The GFPD was started by parents of children with PBDs with the mission to assist families in enhancing the lives of children and to support research for the disease that took Peter’s life.
The mission of the GFPD is to help children and families faced with a Peroxisome Biogenesis Disorder – Zellweger Spectrum Disorder (PBD-ZSD) diagnosis and to assist family members and professionals through educational programs, research, and support services.

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is an amazing organization that is critical to children in Atlanta and the Southeast. The Medically Complex Care Program will be housed at the new Center for Advanced Pediatrics at CHOA, and will be vital to the lives of children with disabilities and diseases. The money raised will go to fund a pediatric psychologist for the program to further guide and alleviate the burden for these families.
Whether treating a toddler in an emergency or supporting a teen through chemotherapy treatments, we are dedicated to the care of each patient. It’s through teamwork at every level of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and with you, the family, that we are able to achieve excellence in pediatric care.
